About Us

Based in San Luis Obispo California, Fusion Fabricators specializes in new construction for industrial, commercial, and residential metal projects. This is the beginning of our web presence, but not the beginning of our efforts creating fine metal projects. Started in 2007, Fusion Fabricators has been building unique metal projects to meet our customers individual design criteria.

Owners Brandt Haener and Braden Haener, grew up on the Central Coast of California, and have been fabricating custom metal projects since a young age.  As our name implies, the company is a Fusion of two brothers vision for a new approach to metal fabrication.  Design, details and craftsmanship our the foundation of our business as we pursue exceptional execution of our customers projects.

Summer 2020

Paso Wine Country | Custom Metal Fabrication

Located on the Highway 46 West, Booker Winery is a premier destination in Paso Robles Wine Country.  The scope of work on this project was diverse and our team performed fabrication and installation of structural steel, architectural metals, as well as design build responsibilities.  A few of the highlight projects include: Corten steel signage, blind fastened Corten cladding, cantilevered steel trellis, and custom entry gate....

Structural Steel | Custom Barn

Summer 2021

Santa Barbara Wine Country

Nestled in the hills of Santa Barbara Wine Country, this custom barn brings a new approach to functional architectural design. The use of perforated siding panels provide and open and airy feel while still protecting from the elements. The perforation does an excellent job of allowing natural light in, providing temperature control during hot summer months, as well as allowing airflow through the building structure. Our team handled the structural steel, perforated side cladding, and large swinging gates.

Blackened Steel and Stainless Railing

Black painted posts contrasted against the brushed stainless makes for stunning contrast in this modern railing at ACI Jet Center. A designer mesh spans the brushed stainless frames to handle the safety requirements. Utilizing the mesh system allows for limited visual obstruction/distraction from the space and creates a very unique affect. The flowing curves were all roll formed and then tuned on site by our craftsman to achieve precision radii match with the surrounding building forms. This railing is an excellent example of the detailed finish work our team is capable of achieving.

Structural Steel

Structural steel up to 40 tons is well within our capabilities. Highlighted below is our project at 2120 Santa Barbara Street in San Luis Obispo. Located next to Miner’s Ace Hardware you are likely familiar with this location. This mixed use building required structural steel to allow for a covered parking garage below with residential apartments above. W18 x 78 I-beams were used to do the heavy work supporting the large spans. For those unfamiliar with structural steel the W18 means that the beams are 18 inches tall and the 78 represents the weight per foot. We brought the beams in on large flatbed trucks and installed with the assistance of a local crane contractor. Many of the beams were 40ft long, weighing in at 3100lbs each. Structural steel can be a great way to achieve large open floor plans as well as provide the foundation to allow buildings to go vertical for better space utilization per square ft.

Stainless Cable Railing

Stainless cable railing is an excellent way to maximize visibility of the best views in your house or to create an open and airy feeling where other solutions would close the space in.  In this application, a wood cap was added to help soften and complement the steel frames of the guard railing.  The wood can also help to tie together other elements of the house or space that the railing will occupy.  An industrial powder coat finish gives this railing a durable finish that will last for years to come.  The small details such as the beveled base plates, countersunk hardware, and stainless finish hardware give a crisp clean look at this seaside residence.

Gabion Walls and Other Winery Work

Gabion walls are a European style wall that integrates rock and stone to give a substantial look and feel.  The impression is something that will stand the test of time.  This project was for a local winery and one of our favorite contractors to work with.  The result is a very usable seating wall that ties the look of the stone in with the surrounding metal structures.

Leaf Gate

Curves, curves, curves.  Each leaf of this gate was drawn individually using SolidWorks 3D Modeling software and then sent off for laser cutting.  The customer was looking for a unique design and provided some styling cues to start the process.  Several hand sketches were provided to the customer to get concept approval, and then we moved into the 3D modeling.  Over 150 hrs of design and fabrication went into this project and the result was well worth the effort.
